Tell City Boat Works began operations in 2009 at mile 727 along the Ohio River in Southern Indiana. We launched our first barge in October of the same year and our first towboat in November 2012. Affiliated with Corn Island Shipyard, Tell City Boat Works leverage’s CIS’ decades of shipbuilding expertise to deliver quality, competitively priced products.
Proven design
The owners of Corn Island Shipyard put years of experience to work at TCBW. The same engineers who made CIS synonymous with quality are behind the design of every vessel at TCBW. Our customers can be assured a product from Tell City Boat Works is engineered by some of the best in the industry.
Towboat & barge repair
The TCBW yard contains 3 cradles which dry dock vessels up to 1200 tons and 200′ by 40′ in size. Once out of the water, TCBW can perform all manner of repairs, such as repowering, hull replacement, cooler replacement, and shaft work.
